Drier and seasonably mild with slowly improving conditions as high pressure builds in

Today’s Weather Synopsis…

An upper level ridge and an associated area of high pressure will gradually build in to the region today, but with plenty of low level moisture remaining in place, low clouds and fog can be expected this morning. Temperatures will remain seasonably mild in the upper 30’s and lower 40’s with clouds lingering this afternoon, especially over the higher terrain. High pressure will continue to build across the region through Friday with a bit more sunshine expected and continued mild temperatures.

A weakening disturbance will then track south of the region on Friday night and early Saturday, but now looks to track close enough to bring a chance of rain showers or light rain, although moisture is expected to remain limited. Dry weather will return late Saturday and through Sunday with some sun. An upper level low will then begin to approach from the Tennessee Valley later on Sunday bringing the next chance of precipitation late Sunday night into Monday. This system looks to bring a widespread rainfall to the region as temperatures remain mild, but could begin as a wintry mix of rain and snow on Monday morning before warmer air moves in changing the precipitation to plain rain.
