High pressure briefly brings dry weather, but more light snow arrives tonight

Today’s Weather Synopsis…

A small area of high pressure will move across the region early today with dry weather returning, before sliding eastward with increasing clouds late ahead of the next storm system. An area of low pressure will quickly track south of the region tonight with light snow developing after midnight. Some minor accumulations of 1 to 2 inches are possible by Wednesday morning as snow tapers to some lingering rain and snow showers and gradually ends.

There will be another brief break in the precipitation Wednesday afternoon and night with mostly cloudy skies remaining, but a large upper level low pressure system will move out of the Great Lakes into Thursday with additional chances of snow showers as disturbances rotate around it. In addition, it will become colder and increasingly breezy with lake effect snow developing in favored western areas. It will remain quite chilly through Saturday as high pressure begins to build in, but yet another system will begin to approach for Sunday.
