Warm front brings period of light snow early, tapering off to a few rain or snow showers

Today’s Weather Synopsis…

A warm front and a weak trough of low pressure will bring some light snow to the region early this morning, possibly mixing with and changing to rain or drizzle before tapering off later this morning and leaving just a slight chance for a few lingering rain or snow showers this afternoon with seasonable temperatures in the upper 30’s to lower 40’s.

Another small area of high pressure will move across the region tonight and into early Tuesday with dry weather returning, before the next storm system arrives later on Tuesday. Clouds will increase again with light snow arriving in the evening and into Tuesday night as a cold front approaches from the west, possibly mixing with rain in lower elevations. In addition, a secondary area of low pressure will develop off the mid-Atlantic coast, but should remain far enough offshore to keep impacts minimal across the region. A strong cold front will bring breezy and colder weather into late week as it tracks through on Thursday with scattered rain and snow showers, possibly becoming more widespread if an area of low pressure develops along the front.
